DEIONIZED CHILLERS

INDUSTRIAL CHILLER APPLICATIONS

PROTECTING CRITICAL MATERIALS FROM HEAT

In the micro-machining industry, EDM (electrical discharge machining) uses an electrode to cut, and shape materials into desired measurements. This process is extremely accurate, and is usually used on hard materials like metal. The workpiece being cut is submerged in a dielectric cutting fluid that continuously flushes the removed material away. Many components are susceptible to overheating, swelling, and damage. Robust spindle cooling solutions are required to maintain the ideal temperature for optimal performance. During the EDM process, small particles of metal enter the fluid. Deionized water helps to promote a higher metal removal rate and enhances the machine’s capacity to deliver a more precise cut.

Deionized chillers pump deionized water that is stripped of impurities. These impurities consist of elemental ions, including calcium, magnesium, sulfates, iron, hydrogen and sodium. Deionized water resists the flow of electrical currents and can be used in a high voltage workplace. It is corrosive to non-stainless steel and should only be used for cooling when run through a specialized deionized chiller. North Slope Chillers offers industrial deionized chillers that will keep your EDM running efficiently.

WHO NEEDS DEIONIZED WATER?

DEIONIZED WATER APPLICATIONS
Deionized water is used in a wide variety of industrial processes from manufacturing to biotech. In the manufacturing industry, deionized water helps with precise cutting of hard materials such as metal, glass, and stone. When used safely in stainless steel equipment, there are many benefits to using deionized water.

SPINDLE COOLING SOLUTIONS

Effective spindle chilling maintains optimal temperatures and relieves thermal stress on your EDM.  There are a lot of spindle cooling systems on the market. These systems need to be adequately equipped to remove heat but also contaminants. Deionized chillers are equipped to do exactly that.
